This is the final project in "New Materials" from the first year of the bachelor's degree in photography. We were tasked with utilising photography to address environmental concerns, I elected to concentrate on air pollution, a topic that has recently captivated my interest.

Inspiration

The objective was to convey the sensation of suffocation resulting from air depletion. Employing plastic, water, and artificial flowers, I depicted the asphyxiating effects of air pollution. In line with the environmental focus, I chose to explore Cyanotype, or sun-printing, an ancient photographic technique.

The final result was an image produced through the Cyanotype process on A3 paper, complemented by plastic mounted on the wall to intensify the sense of suffocation, extending the image's impact beyond its confines.
